endoscopic embryogeny

*Embryogeny in which the embryo develops from the inner of the two cells that result from the first division of the zygote. The outer cell often forms the suspensor. Endoscopic embryogeny is seen in the Lycopsida, most of the Filicinae, and all the Gymnospermae and Angiospermae. Compare exoscopic embryogeny.
