Nidulariales

An order of the *Gasteromycetes containing some 60 species (9 genera) known as the bird's-nest fungi. The wall of the basidiocarp is nestlike and contains a number of separate spore masses (the 'eggs'), which are exposed when the covering membrane dies back. An example is Crucibulum laeve.
