FMN

(flavin mononucleotide) A riboflavin-derived coenzyme, similar to *FAD, that acts as a prosthetic group jo several dehydrogenases. NADH dehydrogenase, the enzyme that catalyses transfer of electrons from NADH to coenzyme Q in the respiratory chain, is an FMN-containing enzyme. See also flavoprotein.
