(bladder) 1. An ovoid compartment lined with sensitive hairs that serves to trap and digest small animals. It is seen in species of Utricularia (blad-derworts) and is a modification of the leaf.
2. An indehiscent bladder-like fruit formed by certain plants in the Chenopodiaceae and Amaranthaceae. It is a type of achene.
