rogue

1. Any plant that varies from the rest of the crop and is consequently not wanted. Examples are wild oats (Avena fatua) growing in fields of cultivated oats (A. saliva), plants growing from self-pollinated seed in a field of F1 hybrids, and diseased plants, such as wheat plants affected with covered smut.
2. To remove and destroy such plants.
