pyridine alkaloids

A group of alkaloids, the structures of which are based on the pyridine nucleus (a six-membered ring containing five carbon atoms and a nitrogen atom, and with three double bonds). They include the hemlock alkaloids, e.g. coniine, which is present in Conium maculatum (hemlock).
