organomercurial fungicide

An organic *fungicide containing mercury. Most of this group are phenylmercury derivatives, e.g. phenylmercuric acetate, and are used as *seed dressings. Mercury-containing fungicides are highly toxic to mammals and treated grain must be clearly labelled or even dyed to distinguish it from edible grain.
