Myxomycota

(Myxobionta) A division of the Fungi containing those species that have amoeboid, plasmodial, or pseudoplasmodial thalli. It contains some 475 species in about 90 genera and is divided into the four classes *Acrasiomycetes , Hydromyxomycetes , *Myxomycetes , and *Plasmodiophoromycetes.
