hypersensitivity

Increased sensitivity of a plant to attack by a particular pathogen so that the host tissue dies at the point of infection and thus prevents spread of the disease. The only symptoms are minute necrotic flecks. Plants showing this type of reaction to a particular pathogen are very resistant.
