A prefix denoting seaweeds. For example, fucin and fucoidin are colloids found only in the walls of brown algae (Phaeophyta). Fucoxanthin is a carotenoid pigment found in the Bacillariophyta, Phaeophyta, and Chrysophyta. Fucosterol is the main type of sterol found in seaweeds.
