flavonols

A group of *flavonoid compounds, the members of which have a hydroxyl group on the third carbon of the C3 group in the centre of the flavonoid nucleus. They are formed by the addition of a hydroxyl ion to a flavanone. Common flavonols include quercitin and kaempferol.
