corymb

A simple racemose inflorescence in which the flowers are formed on lateral stalks of different lengths, the longest at the base, resulting in a flattopped cluster of flowers. This form of floral arrangement, found frequently in the Cruciferae, may aid insect pollination by giving easy access to individual flowers and in providing a flat landing platform, as in candytufts (Iberis).
