Benedict's reagent

A mixture of copper (II) sulphate in solution together with a filtered mixture of sodium citrate and sodium carbonate. The reagent is used to detect the presence of reducing sugars in solution. After boiling, a high concentration of reducing sugars in the, test solution causes the formation of a red precipitate, while a lower concentration results in the formation of a yellow precipitate. It is a more sensitive test than Fehling's solution.
