Bryopsidophyceae

A class of the *Chlorophyta consisting predominantly of macroscopic algae with coenocytic thalli. Certain of these algae contain distinctive carotenoid and xanthophyll pigments and reserve carbohydrates and include xylose, mannose, and callose among their cell-wall components. The class includes the orders *Cladophorales , Acrosiphonales, Sphaeropleales, Siphonocladales, Dasycladales, and *Caulerpales.
