Bordeaux mixture

A mixture of copper sulphate and calcium hydroxide used as a fungicide. It was first used by p. M. A. Millardet in France in 1883-85 to control vine downy mildew (Plas-mopara viticola). A common mixture is 40 g copper sulphate and 40 g calcium hydroxide in 5 1 water.
