2-4-5-T

(2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid) A synthetic *auxin of the *phenoxyacetic acid type with three substituted chlorine atoms. It has mainly proved of use as a selective weedkiller and as a defoliant. However, contamination with the highly toxic chemical dioxin has led to measures to restrict its use.
